Dear colleagues,
As a member of the "World Knowledge Dialogue" (WKD) team, I am happy to
announce the publication of the book:
*A Vision of Transdisciplinarity: Laying Foundations for a World Knowledge
Dialogue*
Based on reflections that the shared 2006 WKD Symposium experience
stimulated among participants, this collection of essays vividly illuminates
the principles of consilience. It bears testimony that each branch of
knowledge studies a subset of reality dependent on factors studied in other
branches; that the exact sciences, the social sciences, the humanities and
arts each have their specific tools, methodologies, and limitations, but
share a common goal of giving purpose to understanding.
You can see a more detailed description of the book, and place your order by
following the links below:
For Switzerland: www.wkdialogue.ch
For the rest of the World: EPFL Press

The book is also obtainable from your online or local bookshop.
I take advantage of this message to remind you that the *2nd World Knowledge
Dialogue Symposium* will be held from *September 10-13, 2008*, again in
Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
By registering now at www.wkdialogue.ch you can still join leading
scientists and scholars, including several Nobel Laureates, to experiment
with Dialogue between the branches of knowledge and invent the language that
will allow you to communicate better across disciplinary boundaries.
Yours sincerely,
Ariane Vlerick
