Dear all,
I am working with some colleagues to commemorate the 100 years from the
tragic earthquake occurred in Messina (Italy) in 1908 28 dec. We have
decided to use popular culture, and, in the specific, a popular tale from
Messina regarding the fisherman Colapesce, readapting this story with the
introduction of a modern character, a seismologist from Ingv. The script
will be performed by the scholars of the elementary school (2 classroom with
7 and 9 years scholars) together with a seismologist of our institute (the
only adult character). At present the teachers have already the script and
they are working with the scholars on it. Of course in the script there is a
part where some science about earthquakes and in the specific the seismicity
of our country are introduced, together with risk protection.
It will be great if any of you has done analog experiences and maybe written
papers on it, can transmit articles and/or a bibliography . We are
interested also in papers concerning the more general topic of how to use
theatre for science education. Any other idea or suggestion is of course
well accepted.
I thank you in advance for your kind attention and collaboration.
Sincerely,
--
